November is an academically short month and there are many things happening I’d like to mention. American Education Week begins November 14 and each school has scheduled activities. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education. Please visit your child’s school to see the wonderful things happening in the classroom.
School will be closed for the NJEA Convention the week of November 7 – 11. Parent/Teacher conferences will begin November 18, 21, 22. Please make every effort to attend, communication between parent and teacher is so important and beneficial to our students. Lastly, we will have half days of school on November 18, 21, 22, and 23. School will be closed November 24 and 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Our upcoming referendum vote will take place on December 13, 2016. Please take the time to vote…a quality education is a community commitment.

NJ's 3rd Congressional District Reading Challenge
The deadline for this Reading Challenge is March 17, 2017. It was Congressman MacArthur’s way to encourage students in New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District to read in their free time. This reading challenge is open to all students in grades K-6th and can be found through his website at: www.MacArthur.House.Gov. Once completed the student will receive a letter and Congressional Certificate from Congressman MacArthur.
For safety purposes, we encourage parents to not pick up their child(ren) a half hour before dismissal unless it is for an emergency only. We encourage you to utilize our bus transportation.
