To introduce myself, I have been teaching and living in Manahawkin since 1985. My three daughters have gone through Stafford Elementary and Southern Regional H.S. I began teaching in Stafford at the McKinley Avenue School Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 Basic Skills program and also as a Self-Contained NI/PI classroom teacher. Following my maternity leave, it was a joy being assigned to teach the Pre-school Handicapped Program from 1990-1999 here at Oxy. Then once again I worked with resource room students grades K, 1 and 2 through 2009. Our pre-school population has been growing here at Oxycocus, so I am pleased to be in Room 15 now with our youngest students. My professional career has been working with young students, teaching students with special needs, having experience in both large and small classroom settings, and happily utilizing my Masters degree in Reading and degrees in Special Education, Regular Education and Early Childhood Education.
My personal goal for all students is to help them foster independence in their work habits, to encourage them to be responsible in the classroom environment, and to teach them the educational/emotional/social skills outlined in their IEP. We are all striving together to have our children reach maximum success and to enjoy being at Oxycocus while learning each day. Teachers, Students, Parents and Guardians...
Perfect together!
