This innovative program addresses and fosters multiple intelligences while simultaneously attending to the implementation of the core curriculum content standards in visual and performing arts. The core curriculum content standards mandate that all students acquire skills that increase aesthetic awareness in dance, music, theater and visual arts. Students are required to create, to produce, to critique, to design and to identify the historical, social and cultural influences and traditions that have generated artistic accomplishments.
Believing that students demonstrate intelligence in a variety of different ways, the Stafford Township School District will provide numerous opportunities to develop these multiple intelligences. By extending offerings in visual and performing arts the district will better promote and foster the development of these intelligences and more accurately attend to the needs, interests and abilities of all students.
School choice program students may be offered opportunities to participate in a variety of visual and performing arts activities including theater, dance, improvisation, choreography, rhythmic analysis, musical composition, and communications. Students with identified interests and abilities will also participate in extended day experiences designed to enhance and extend specific skills and talents.
