EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

As reflected in the district’s mission statement, Stafford Township School District has made

a strong commitment to the effective use of educational technology by all administrators,

teachers, staff and students, and to the support of technology use by parents and community

residents. The district mission states:

“Stafford Schools, together with parents and community, shall provide a secure, nurturing

environment that promotes a positive self-image through solid educational achievements and

high standards of behavior, enabling our students to become life-long learners in a

technological society.”

Investments in human and financial resources by the school district support the vision:

1. Faculty, staff and administration will use technology effectively in all aspects of their

professional performance including, but not limited to:

a. Delivery of instruction

b. Management of student information and academic achievement

c. Collaboration with peers

d. Professional development

e. Self-improvement

f. Distribution of information to parents

g. Automation and recordkeeping for business processes

2. Students will use technology effectively in all aspects of the instructional process

including, but not limited to:

a. All core curriculum subject areas

b. Special focus areas such as music and visual and performing arts

c. Communication and collaboration

d. Development of electronic portfolios of multi-year achievement

3. The school district will provide a technology infrastructure that supports

a. Ongoing improvements and advances in technology

b. Network services to provide access to all types of information from any

location

c. Data-driven decision making at the building and district level

d. Innovative integration of technology into classroom teaching practices

4. Classrooms will have flexible and capable technology infrastructure including:

a. Large Display computer or display screen for demonstrations

b. Up to five computers placed in the classroom for daily use
