PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION!

As many of you may already know, the second phase of our solar project is underway. We had hoped that our solar project would be complete before the beginning of the new school year, but it appears as if its completion will be delayed by at least three weeks.  Although school will begin on September 7, as scheduled, we have made alternate arrangements for student pick-ups and drop-offs to ensure the safety of all and the specifics of those arrangements will be shared at building orientations, through CENS messages, and posted on the district’s website.

The following is our plan. Stay tuned and check back for any updates!

Student Drop Off

·         Intermediate parents are asked to join the McKinley car line for student drop off.  To help ensure your child’s safety he/she should exit through the passenger side door of the vehicle.  This will also assist in keeping the car line moving.

·         After 7:55 am you will need to park and walk your child to the Intermediate Greeter located in the McKinley foyer and sign your child in to school.

Student Pick up

·         All student pickups will occur through the Intermediate Greeter located in the McKinley foyer.

Staff members will be positioned within the connector during arrival and dismissal to assist students in traveling between buildings.

Mr. William Wilkinson,

Principal

Mrs. Susan D'Alessandro,

Co-Principal / Director of Curriculum 3-6

Mr. Wilkinson began his teaching career in High Point, NC where he taught 5th grade for two years. Ten years ago he became a sixth grade mathematics teacher in Stafford Intermediate School. He spent six wonderful years teaching the students of Stafford.

During the past four years, Mr. Wilkinson served as Supervisor of Grades 3-6 as well as the Enrichment Programs Coordinator. These two roles allowed him to spend time in both McKinley Avenue and Stafford Intermediate schools gaining knowledge of the curriculum while interacting with the students, parents and staff.

As a resident of Stafford, Mr. Wilkinson takes an active role in the community. After school hours you will often find him on the soccer fields where he volunteers his time as the coach of both his son’s soccer teams.

On August 1st, 2009, Mr. Wilkinson became the Principal of the Intermediate School. He is looking forward to the exciting opportunity to help the students of Stafford achieve success!
