Stafford Township School District

Superintendent’s Message – October 2014

Dear Parents/Guardians,

During the week of October 6 – 10, 2014, we will be celebrating “Anti-Bullying Week” in our schools by sharing age-appropriate messages and activities about respect and caring.  Throughout the school year we recognize the importance of character education by providing appropriate instruction focusing on preventing harassment, intimidation or bullying.

October 6 – 10, 2014 is also “Fire Safety Week”.

I encourage everyone to attend the following Parent meetings:

·         October 15, 2014, the District PTO Parent meeting at 7:00 p.m. at STAC.  Our Director of Curriculum & Instruction will be presenting information regarding the new math pilot programs, new language arts programs, as well as CCSS and the PARCC Assessment. Click here to view the presentation.

·         October 23, 2014, we will be hosting a District Family STEM Night at 6:00 p.m. in the Intermediate cafeteria.  Students and parents will have the opportunity to participate in exciting hands-on activities to introduce STEM integration (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.)  Click here for the STEM Night Flyer.

School Violence & Vandalism Awareness Week will be observed the week of October 20 – 24, 2014 by organizing activities to prevent school violence, including, but not limited to, age-appropriate opportunities for student discussion on conflict resolution, issues of student diversity, and tolerance.  We believe that by working hard to create a culture of respect and caring, incidents of bullying will be minimized in the future.

Sincerely,

George J. Chidiac
Superintendent
