• What is ClassDojo?

In our Spanish class we will use a behavior tool called ClassDojo. It is a website that allows teachers to give students immediate feedback on their behaviors, both positive and negative. Students will earn Dojo points for positive behaviors and lose Dojo points for negative behaviors.  Our first class goal will be to earn a combined total of 200 Dojo points.  When we meet our goal we will celebrate with a reward!

One of the greatest features of ClassDojo is that it allows guardians to stay involved. Once you are connected you will be able to see class updates & announcements, photos, your child’s individual progress as well as private messages from me. My hope is that this will bring you and me closer together, and help you better understand the progress of your student on a week to week basis. I know you will be proud to see the great behaviors your child is displaying, and in turn, if there is something they need to work on, you will be able to see that as well.

How do I set up a student account for my child?

    From the Web

In order to set up from the website, you'll need to have a student code for your child.  This is a 7-9 digit code that starts with an "S."  If you don't have this code, please ask your teacher for it.  For privacy reasons, teachers need to pass this info to you.

Once you have your student code, you can get started.

    Register Your Student's Account

    1. Navigate to www.classdojo.com

    2. Click on "Sign Up" and select "Student" from the pop up

    3. Click on "I don't have a QR code"

    4. Create a username, select your age, and create a password  (write down the username and password as these will be used to login later)

    5. Click on "Add a Class" and enter the student code

    6. Enter your student code and your parent email (email will be used to send you an email to verify your student's account)

How can my child change their monster?

Once you've created an account AND gotten parent permission, you can customize your ClassDojo avatar.

    1. Click on the pencil icon in the top left corner of the box containing your current ClassDojo Monster
    2. Use the arrows to toggle through options for your ClassDojo Monster
    3. Click "Save" when you've created the perfect avatar

Note: Be sure that you've entered your Student Code (under Join a Class), and that you have parent permission.  Both are required to save your avatar and have it show up in class.  If your avatar isn't showing up in class, you may need parent permission.

If you have parent permission and you're still not seeing your avatar in class, your teacher will need to give permission for the change to your avatar.  They can do this through their account's "Student" section.  Please have your teacher email us with any questions.
