Welcome to Fifth Grade!!  I'm Mr. Opalenik but most students just call me Mr. O.  This is my 15th year teaching, all here at Intermediate.  This year I am working in class with Mrs. Georgeson and Mrs. O'Donnell and I will also be pulling my students from the common area on those days when they are not in the classroom.  I teach both Math and ELA.  I encourage my students to read a variety of different books even though I love reading biographies.  My wife and I enjoy traveling and especially like taking road trips.  I am always out hiking or paddle boarding with my dog Skeeter.  I even have a pair of Vans with a picture of us out on the lake.  When I'm not with my wife or dog, I am doing some sort of workout.  Now that the weather is getting cooler I will be spending lots of time running and biking.  It's also the start of softball season and trust me, you will be hearing all about last year's championship team..just ask last year's class.
