    Week of 3-20

    Spelling/Sight Words- See modified spelling list sent home with your child.  Students may be working on different words than their other classmates.  Your child's individual sight words are on a ring in his/her bag of books.

    Reading/Word Work/Fundations - Letter/Sound review, sight words, digraphs/blends, individual reading strategies, Non-fiction, Retelling, Making Connections. Fundations work and individual Guided Reading work. 
    Math Work- Working with numbers 1-120, place value, ones, tens, hundreds, comparing numbers, greater than and less than.

    Ongoing Practice - Addition/Subtraction facts and doubles addition facts. Making 10 to add numbers, using different addition and subtraction strategies, and timed tests. Find missing numbers in equations and add three numbers, different strategies to solve word problems with addends.

    Writing -  Animal Books, searching for facts.  Journal Writing. Editing - Capitalization, spaces and punctuation at the end of a sentence.  Writing a paragraph.

    Homework - Reading 15-30 minutes a night, review sight words or letter sounds on your child's ring in his/her bag of books. Review weekly spelling words and spelling work in the spelling notebooks and any math homework in dog folder.
