Attendance
STAFFORD TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES
The safety and security of our children are of paramount interest to both parents and the schools. The district’s attendance procedure/regulation is one that requires a parent/guardian to contact the school by telephone when your child will not be in school. In the event that your child is absent and the district has not been notified, you will receive this automated call informing you that your student is absent. In accordance with the attendance procedure/regulation parents are required to send a written excuse for a student’s absence upon the student’s return to school.
● All students will receive a letter through the Parent Portal when they reach 5 absences.
● All students will receive a letter through the parent portal when they reach 10 absences. At this time the District may require a parent meeting with the Building Principal to address the absences and develop a plan for improvement which may include involvement from with Guidance and the I&RS Committee.
● All students will receive a letter through the Parent Portal when they reach 15 absences. At this time, if a meeting has not taken place with the Building Principal, one will be required. If that meeting did take place and the absences have continued the parent and student will be required to attend court mediation. In addition, Guidance involvement will be implemented through the I&RS Committee.
● Any student who reaches 18 absences will be required to attend court mediation. Upon completion of mediation, if the students attendance does not improve, a complaint will be filed against the parent/guardian(s), with the Stafford Township Municipal Court
